Lesson 3: Online Roulette Guide

The origin of Roulette dates back to the 17th century inFrance. The game quickly became a very popular gambling game all over the country and soon found its entry into the famous casinos inMonte Carlo andMonaco, the biggest and famous casinos that are well known places for gambling. The game consists of eight players who place their bet on the required numbers against the casino, which the dealer represents on behalf of the casino. The dealer or the croupier is also the person who actually spins the ball into the spinning wheel and also takes care of the bets that are to be placed or also distribute the amount to the winner.

There are two versions of the Roulette game, the European Roulette and the American Roulette. The only difference they have in between them is an added extra pocket 00. This is used in the American Roulette unlike the European Roulette game play where only one pocket is assigned for 0.

The amount of bet the participants place on a particular number does not attract cash. The participants are given certain colored chips according to the amount they wish to play for that night. These chips are colored differently according to the amount. The player then can place his bet on a particular number with the help of the colored chips which also allows the dealer to know the amount you have wagered on the number. Once the player wins his bet, he is given back the colored chips along with the winning amount chips which can be exchanged at the reception for cash.

Once the player has his colored chips, he/she is ready for the game of Roulette by placing a bet on the numbers. The bet can be placed inside or outside, which generally consists of the numbers or the color codes, the even-odd bet, etc. Once the bet is placed, the dealer then rotates the spinning wheel and releases the ball in the opposite direction of the wheel. After a few rotations, the wheel slows down itself and the speed of the ball is reduced making it to fall into one of the numbered pockets. At this point of time, the dealer announces that there would be no further bets accepted and those who have placed their bet cannot change their decision. As the ball comes to rest in one of the pockets, the dealer then places all the colored chips on the winning number and clears the table. The game then continues with the next set of players placing their bet or the previous players playing another round. The dealer in the meantime issues the colored chips to the winner, which can be exchanged for the cash.

Apart from the conventional bet on the numbers, the player can also choose combination or an arrangement process as his bet. These are generally called as inside and outside bets. The inside bet consists of the area that is within the table layout and allows the player to place a bet on numbers. Outside bets are anything around the periphery of the board that consists of low and high, even or odd, columns and dozens.
